The Life of St Demiana

The Life of St Demiana is a free eBook by Cynthia Lam telling the story of St Demiana, who loved prayer and chose to give her whole life to Christ.

St Demiana loved to pray and read the holy books alone in her room. She often wept as she prayed, feeling the love of Christ her Saviour fill her heart.

When she was old enough, her father wanted her to marry one of his noble friends, but Demiana refused. She said she had given herself as a bride to Christ and meant to stay unmarried all her life so she could serve the Lord Jesus Christ.

She asked her father to build her a house on the edge of the city, where she could live with her friends as a nun, away from the world and its temptations.
