Saint Shenouda The Shepherd Boy is a children's book by Deacon George that tells the life of St Shenouda the Archimandrite through the eyes of a shepherd he worked with as a child, for children aged 6 and up.

St Shenouda the Archimandrite is one of the most celebrated monastic leaders of the fifth century. As a young monk he was chosen unanimously as abbot of the monastery because of his great devotion, holiness and service. Under his leadership the monastery grew to four thousand monks and nuns and became a place of spiritual and social refuge for the villages around it. Parts of the monastery named after him, the White Monastery, still stand west of Sohag, Egypt.

St Shenouda became a light to the whole world through his many sermons and discourses and the canons he set for monks and nuns. He was the first to introduce the pledge that monks recite before joining the monastery.

This book makes his story relatable to young children, and shows that the path to holiness can begin early: Shenouda was only nine years old when he began his journey. With clear pictures, children will surely be inspired by his life.
